2020 Malbec, Cinco Fincas, Mendoza, Argentina
A blend of five vineyards, the selection process was rigorous in determining which parcels of fruit would make the cut for this wine.
Working with local growers from across the Mendozan region it is clear the result was worth the effort. A quintessential Argentine Malbec packed with fruit and freshness at an incredible price. A very quaffable, easy drinking wine with copious amounts of blackberry, plum and cherry. Rounded tannins make this soft on the pallet with a fresh finish that makes you reach for another glass.

This structured, intense and beautifully balanced Argentinian Malbec is made by famed French winemaker, Francois Lurton.
Intense ruby red colour. Complex, with a mix of red berries and spicy aromas of clove and black pepper. Also some delicate notes of chocolate and coffee that come from its time in oak. A structured and complex with pleasant tannins which bring sweetness and a long finish. Spice combines with toasted notes and characteristic red berry fruit of Malbec.
2017 Single Vineyard Malbec, Inacayal, Mendoza, Argentina
Situated in the upper Mendoza valley where the river is halfway through its journey from the Andes mountains to the eastern plains, the vineyards of Luján de Cuyo sit at altitudes of around 1000 metres above sea level. Combining the intense sunlight experienced during the day and the cold night temperatures, the wines produced show deep concentration of flavour and structure. Current winemaker, Jose Ponce, is making some excellent wines; powerful and complex yet with balance.
2014 Prestige Cahors 'Le Calcifere', Crocus
Crocus wines are a quest to redefine Malbec in its birthplace, combining old world, ancient terroirs with new world vision. When internationally recognized winemaker Paul Hobbs and 4th generation Cahors vintner Bertrand Vigouroux decided to work together, they set out to offer a new interpretation of the Malbec of Cahors. Driven by their passion and expertise, the two men established Crocus to show the world how a single clone of Malbec can vary in three distinct terroirs and in the process create wines as special as they are individual.
Deep purple, with touches of fuchsia on the rim. An intense malbec displaying aromas of red cherry, blueberry, rose petal, ripe Italian plum, black liquorice and spice box. The palate is concentrated and bright, cascading with focused flavours of black cherry, red plum, milk chocolate, talc and hints of butterscotch and star anise, supported by fine-grained tannins.
