2019 Viognier, Domaine de la Baume, IGP Pays dOc, France
A fabulous, generous textured Viognier from the south of France. Rich in apricot and ripe peach flavour, yet finishing dry with great freshness.
2020 Viognier/Marsanne, Domaine Saint-Paul, Languedoc, France
Domaine Saint-Paul is a fabulous organic estate, located close to Béziers in the commune of Colombiers in the heart of the Languedoc. Their focus is on traditional southern French grape varieties, with a huge amount of emphasis on work carried out in the vineyard to ensure the quality of grapes harvested is absolutely first class.
This hard work has resulted in a trio of exceptional wines. We'd go as far as to say that this estate is one of our most exciting finds in recent years.
This viognier marsanne blend is an absolute delight. It has the most enticing tropical aroma and on the palate stone fruits (peach and apricot) and a hint of citrus combine beautifully. What's more it has a freshness and vibrancy that can sometimes be missing from southern French Viogniers. This aromatic beauty is a delightful aperitif, but comes into its own with lightly spiced Asian dishes.
Certified Organic and vegan friendly.
2018 Syrah/Viognier, Las Perdices, Mendoza, Argentina
Ruby red in colour. Complex aromas of cherries and blueberries followed up by the subtle fragrance of apricot and white peach. On the palate, it shows all of its potential; smooth, round, meaty and flavourful. Very good, ripe tannins, with a long and refined finish. This wine shows the characteristics typical of these two grape varieties, co-fermented to achieve synergy and give the wine complexity.
2020 Viognier, Las Perdices, Mendoza, Argentina
What a great expression of Viognier this is, with it's enticing aroma of ripe stone fruits and textured palate. It has a floral edge to it and this, along with the rich fruit on the palate, makes the wine a good accompaniment to aromatic cuisine.
