Half bottle - Brut Reserve, Duval-Leroy, Champagne, France
Based in the heart of the Cotes des Blanc since 1859, the House of Duval-Leroy has always been a family-run business. It owns nearly 200 hectares of sustainably farmed vineyards, mainly Chardonnay, in the Grand Crus as well as extensive holdings around its home village of Vertus. Duval-Leroy wine maker, Sandrine Logette-Jardin, was the first (and is still the only) female Chef de Cave in a major Champagne house. She crafts champagnes that epitomise finesse, lightness and elegance with their fine bubbles, precise acidic structure and smooth palate. An elegant Brut champagne composed from fifteen selected crus and a generous quantity of reserve wine. Notes of red apple, apricot and roasted yellow fig enrich the fresh, elegant mouthfeel and fine mousse. The finish is long, complex and moreish with toasty brioche and hints of dark chocolate. A blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier and 10% Chardonnay that provides the perfect balance between finesse and power.
