There are many ways to qualify success, but in the world of wine one of the most telling is longevity. This can refer to the ability of a particular wine to age and evolve, delivering pleasure, over decades, but it can also be applied to ownership. Champagne Henriot has been family-owned and -operated since it was founded in 1808. This remarkable accomplishment is even more impressive when you consider how many family operations in Champagne have been absorbed into larger interests over the years. To craft this 2000 Brut Millsim, fruit from more than 15 cru sites was blended. The blend was 55% Chardonnay, sourced primarily from the Ctes des Blancs, and 45% Pinot Noir, mostly harvested in the Montagne de Reims area.
