We’re delighted to be welcoming Gerard Holden, proprietor of Holden Manz Wine Estate in Franschhoek, to Baythorne Wines this July. Gerard’s 22-hectare estate sits within one of the world’s most beautiful wine landscapes, and his team produces suitably stunning wines from a broad range of grape varieties. So good are his wines that they have become the cornerstone of our South African Cape range.
As well as being home to many exceptional vineyards, the town of Franschhoek is also at the heart of South Africa’s growing food scene. Given that the best wines from this region are generous, intense, and at their best when served with food, it’s no surprise that so many leading restaurateurs have been drawn there. In keeping with the Franschhoek spirit, we’ll be serving the wines alongside a specially crafted three-course meal.
Our café head chef, Jon Herring, has prepared a South African-inspired menu designed to showcase Gerard’s wines at their finest.
We do hope you can join us for what promises to be a real treat for your taste buds. Our last dinner sold out quickly, so early booking is strongly recommended. Tickets are limited to just 30 places.
