Xavier Vignon specialises in finding and vinifying tiny, but very special plots and the results are spectacular. He has outdone himself with the ‘Le Fou’ (meaning the fool), which is a multi-vintage blend from five of the best vintages of the last decade: 2010, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017. Not only a blend of vintages, it is also a combination of ten terroirs of the Southern Rhone (Chateauneuf du Pape, Rasteau, Ventoux and high altitude Cotes du Rhone sites) and is made up of 15 different late-ripening varieties of Grenache (making up 85% of the blend, with the remainder made up of Mourvedre and Syrah).
