Description

Rare in Listrac, this Listrac château produces an excellent dry white wine. It is a blend of Semillon, planted in 1935 and Sauvignon Blanc planted in 1983 with a bit of Muscadelle planted in 1935.

80% of the harvest is vinified in oak barrel with 20% stainless steel tank. The two wines are then blended before bottling. The result is a textured wine with fresh citrus combining with hints of nutty nougat.

One of the foremost Listrac estates as you may gather from the Dupré name, the estate’s vines sit between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten on a particularly favourable site. The key in Listrac which is cooler than other areas of the Medoc is to rely not so heavily on Cabernet Sauvignon which in many vintages will struggle to achieve full phenolic ripeness and instead look to Merlot and Cabernet Franc to fully ripen and give a wine intended for medium term enjoyment.
