A classic Vin Doux Naturel from the limestone soils of Frontignan in the Languedoc, this Muscat de Frontignan from Château de la Peyrade is made from Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains, a variety prized for its intensely expressive aromatics.
Tasting Notes:
Bright golden in colour. The nose is immediately fragrant, showing orange blossom, apricot, fresh grape and delicate floral notes with hints of lychee and fruit syrup. The palate is rich and textured, carrying concentrated stone fruit and candied citrus flavours, balanced by a clean, natural freshness that keeps the sweetness in check. The finish is long, perfumed and gently floral.
Winemaking:
Produced as a Vin Doux Naturel, fermentation is stopped early by the addition of neutral grape spirit, preserving the wine’s natural sweetness and aromatic intensity. The fruit is sourced from hand-harvested Muscat vines grown on south-facing limestone soils, with low yields ensuring concentration and purity. The result is a style that combines richness with clarity and lift.
Food Pairing:
Excellent with fruit-based desserts, citrus tarts and pastries, as well as blue cheeses and foie gras. It can also be enjoyed simply, lightly chilled, as an aromatic dessert wine on its own.
ABV: 15%
