A vibrant and indulgent red blend from Angove Estate, the 2020 Hopes End Red brings together Shiraz, Grenache, Malbec, and Petit Verdot from carefully selected parcels across South Australia’s vineyard heartland. The warm summers and deep sandy loam over limestone soils ensure perfectly ripened, intensely flavoured grapes.
Tasting Notes:
The wine is intensely dark magenta with purple hues. The nose displays wild berry compote and chocolate notes, while the palate is rich and layered, with plums, cherries, and forest berries intermingling with deft oak usage. A soft, silky finish completes the experience, creating a long, indulgent finish.
Winemaking:
Grapes are harvested in the cool of the morning and gently crushed at Angove Estate’s 110-year-old winery. Fermentation occurs under temperature control to preserve vibrant flavours and aromas. Each parcel is carefully assessed, and the wines are blended to produce a voluptuous, dark-berry driven palate.
Food Pairing:
Enjoy with grilled lamb, barbecued sticky pork ribs, pizza, or your favourite pasta.
