The Livermore Valley's warm days and cool nights are excellent for growing high quality Zinfandel. The majority of the grapes for this vintage were harvested from the Ruby Hill, Raboli, and Smith vineyard blocks in the Livermore Valley, each with its own microclimate. Each blend was aged separately for 8 months, in a combination of French and American oak barrels. Classically fruity Zinfandel with aromas of plums with hints of raspberry and blueberry. It is well-balanced on the palate with good acidity and delicious toasty oak which give under-lying structure to the excellent fruit.
