A Blanc de Noirs Brut Champagne from family-owned producer Fluteau in Gyé-sur-Seine, this cuvée reflects the expressive, fruit-forward style typical of the Côte des Bar in southern Champagne, where Pinot Noir takes centre stage.
Tasting Notes:
Bright gold in colour with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is open and expressive, showing ripe orchard fruit, red apple and melon, lifted by subtle floral notes and a gentle touch of brioche. On the palate, the wine is rounded and fruit-driven, with generous flavours of crisp apple, stone fruit and citrus peel, supported by a soft, creamy texture. A subtle toastiness emerges towards the finish, which is fresh, balanced and lightly saline.
Winemaking:
Produced by Champagne Fluteau, a family estate with over 90 years of history in the Aube, this Blanc de Noirs is crafted predominantly from Pinot Noir grown in estate vineyards around Gyé-sur-Seine. The wine is made using traditional Champagne methods, combining careful vineyard selection with modern cellar techniques to preserve purity of fruit and expression of terroir. Following secondary fermentation in bottle, it is aged on its lees before disgorgement and finished with a Brut dosage of approximately 6 g/l, resulting in a dry, balanced style.
Food Pairing:
A versatile Champagne suited to both aperitif and dining, pairing well with charcuterie, roast poultry, salmon, and lightly spiced dishes. Its fruit-driven style also makes it an approachable match for informal gatherings and shared plates.
