Tuffon Hall are resurrecting a wine-growing tradition in Castle Hedingham that stretches back to Norman times, but they are doing it in a very modern way. Meticulous vineyard management ensure that the grapes are in the very best condition at the time of picking, and the resulting wines are amongst the best produced anywhere in the UK. The bacchus is dry and refreshing, with flavours of gooseberry and apple. At 10.5% abv it is also refreshingly lower in alcohol than many wines made today, so you needn't feel so guilty about the second glass.
