A refined expression of Grand Cru Riesling from the Florimont vineyard in Alsace, produced by Domaine Viticole de Colmar and presented under its Signature de Colmar label. Florimont is recognised for its sun-exposed, well-drained slopes and superb mineral soils, helping Riesling develop both aromatic breadth and refreshing tension. This wine reflects the varietal purity and terroir complexity characteristic of Alsace’s best dry whites.
Tasting Notes:
Pale lemon in colour with bright clarity, the bouquet opens with lifted citrus and orchard fruit aromas, including lemon zest and green apple, supported by subtle floral notes. On the palate it is dry and elegantly structured, with crisp acidity and a fine mineral thread that extends through the mid-palate to a lingering finish. The balance of vibrant fruit and textural precision gives this Riesling both energy and finesse.
Winemaking:
Produced from hand-picked grapes grown on the Florimont Grand Cru site, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve freshness and aromatic expression. The wine is allowed time on fine lees to add subtle textural complexity, while minimal intervention ensures purity of fruit and a clear sense of place.
Food Pairing:
An excellent partner for seafood, shellfish and lightly spiced Asian dishes. It also complements white meats, salads and vegetable-based cuisine, and is versatile enough to serve as an aperitif.
