A beautifully balanced Chardonnay from Wente Vineyards’ estate-grown, certified sustainable vineyards along California's Central Coast. The wine is named for the morning coastal fog drawn inland by the East-West orientation of Livermore Valley, which moderates temperatures and helps the grapes retain freshness.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of citrus and green apple are complemented by hints of toasted oak and vanilla. The palate is bright and lively, with flavours of lime and ripe pear, finishing firm, crisp, and mineral.
Winemaking:
Fermentation was split evenly between neutral American oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. The barrel-fermented portion was aged sur lie with monthly bâtonnage, while the stainless steel portion was half aged on lees and half racked clean to preserve the fresh fruit characters.
Food Pairing:
Pairs well with seafood, lightly roasted poultry, or creamy vegetable dishes.
ABV: 13.5%
