Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby-garnet in colour with mature brick-red highlights, the nose is complex and expressive, revealing aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry alongside darker notes of plum and blackberry. Layers of violet, forest floor, dried herbs, leather and gentle spice emerge with time in the glass. The palate is elegant yet structured, with finely textured tannins and vibrant acidity supporting mature red fruit. Earthy, savoury and mineral nuances add depth, leading to a long, refined and persistent finish.
Winemaking:
Produced exclusively from Pinot Noir grown within the Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard, where the limestone and clay-rich soils contribute structure, complexity and a distinctive mineral character. Domaine Maume follows a traditional Burgundian approach, with careful fermentation and maturation in French oak allowing the character of the vineyard to take centre stage. Extended bottle ageing has softened the wine’s structure and encouraged the development of its complex tertiary aromas while retaining impressive freshness.

An exceptional match for roast duck, venison, pigeon and other feathered game. It also pairs beautifully with beef Wellington, wild mushroom dishes, truffle, slow-roasted lamb and mature cheeses. Given its age, careful decanting for sediment is advisable, although prolonged aeration should be avoided to preserve its delicate mature aromas.
