2012 Vina Bosconia Reserva, R. López de Heredia, Rioja, Spain

At 13 years old this is still considered young by the producer, in fact at the time of writing this it was still their current release. These are classically styled Riojas made following traditional methods. It's aged in ancient American oak vats and regurlary racked for 5 years before bottling. It is then stored at the winery until it starts to hit its drinking window. This is a muscular and robust Rioja that still has a lot of life in it. It retains some delightful dark berry fruit alongside spicy cedar wood and herbal notes.
