We've secured a small quantity of this exceptional Brunello from Albatreti. It may well be our last ever from the estate as the producer is retiring.
It's such an interesting wine with a wonderful combination of savoury (roasted herb and tobacco) notes and vibrant red fruit and cherry. Even though the wine spent 3 years in barrel and now 6-7 years in bottle it's still young at heart. A good decant before serving is recommended, or even better, squirrel a few bottles away for 5 years and then give it another go. This a very serious wine indeed.
