Description

A refined and structured Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from one of the appellation’s most historic estates, Château Laroque reflects both the scale and pedigree of its limestone plateau terroir. With origins dating back to the 12th century, the estate combines tradition with a thoughtful, modern approach in both vineyard and cellar, producing wines of depth, balance and precision.

Tasting Notes:
Deep garnet in colour, the nose is layered and expressive, revealing aromas of ripe red cherry, plum and blackcurrant, alongside more delicate notes of violet, tea leaf and a subtle smoky nuance. The palate is supple yet structured, with generous dark fruit at its core supported by fine, polished tannins. Hints of cocoa, cedar and gentle spice emerge with aeration, leading to a long, composed finish that balances richness with freshness.

Winemaking:
Merlot forms the backbone of the blend, complemented by smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are carefully selected and vinified with precision to preserve fruit purity and terroir expression. Maturation takes place in French and Austrian oak barrels, with a proportion of new oak, adding texture, aromatic complexity and integration without overwhelming the fruit.

Food Pairing:
Well suited to classic dishes such as roast beef, lamb or slow-cooked stews. It also pairs beautifully with richer preparations including Beef Wellington and mature or blue cheeses.

ABV: 14%
