Description

Tripudium is the flagship Nero d’Avola from Cantine Pellegrino, one of Sicily’s historic wine producers founded in 1880 in Marsala. This wine represents the estate’s finest expression of the 2021 harvest, showcasing the island’s premier indigenous red grape grown in the sun-drenched vineyards of Trapani and Agrigento.

Tasting Notes:
Intense ruby red with purplish reflections, the bouquet is elegant and complex, with ripe red fruits including plum, cherry and red berries, complemented by subtle hints of mandarin peel, star anise and a touch of eucalyptus. The palate is warm and lingering, with harmonious fruit intensity, moderate acidity and soft, enveloping tannins, finishing with savoury balsamic and rosemary nuances.

Winemaking:
Made from 100% Nero d’Avola, the grapes undergo controlled, extended maceration to extract structure and depth before fermentation. The wine is matured for an extended period in stainless steel and French oak barriques, which refines texture and integrates complexity while preserving the varietal’s natural fruit character.

Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with roasted and grilled red meats, wild boar ragù, rich pasta sauces and aged cheeses. Its balance of fruit, spice and structure also complements herb-infused lamb and braised game.

ABV: 14.5%
