Description

A beautifully mature expression of one of Tuscany's most historic wines, this Late Release Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Avignonesi showcases the elegance and complexity that only time can bring. Crafted predominantly from Sangiovese and aged extensively before release, it offers remarkable depth, refinement and a true sense of its prestigious terroir.

Tasting Notes:
Deep garnet red in colour with subtle brick hues, the nose is complex and beautifully evolved, revealing aromas of ripe black cherry, dried cranberry and plum, intertwined with notes of tobacco, leather, cedar, dried herbs and sweet spice. The palate is rich and harmonious, with layers of dark and dried fruit supported by fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity and well-integrated oak. Hints of cocoa, balsamic notes and earthy minerality add further complexity, leading to a long, elegant and persistent finish.

Winemaking:
Produced primarily from carefully selected Sangiovese grapes grown on the Avignonesi estate in Montepulciano. Following traditional fermentation, the wine is matured in oak barrels before spending additional years ageing in bottle prior to release. This extended maturation allows the wine to develop exceptional complexity, silky texture and beautifully integrated flavours while preserving its freshness and structure.

Food Pairing:
An outstanding partner for slow-braised beef, roast lamb, game dishes and grilled Florentine steak. It also pairs beautifully with wild mushroom risotto, truffle-infused dishes, aged Pecorino and other mature hard cheeses.

ABV: 14%
