A beautifully balanced red Bordeaux from the Graves appellation, where the region’s distinctive gravel soils bring finesse, structure and natural freshness to the blend. Château Saint Robert delivers a modern expression of Graves, combining ripe Merlot-led fruit with subtle complexity and an elegant, finely textured style.
Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby in colour, the nose is expressive yet refined, opening with ripe cherry, redcurrant and plum, layered with delicate hints of graphite, spice and a touch of cedar. The palate is medium-bodied and well poised, showing pure red and dark berry fruit supported by smooth, integrated tannins. There is a gentle savoury undertone with notes of subtle spice and soft earthy minerality, leading to a long, balanced finish that feels both polished and persistent.
Winemaking:
Produced from a Merlot-dominant blend with a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is crafted to emphasise balance, fruit clarity and structure. Fermentation and maturation are carefully managed to preserve freshness while allowing the tannins to soften and integrate, resulting in a Graves that is both approachable in youth and capable of short-term cellaring.
Food Pairing:
A versatile Bordeaux that pairs well with roast meats, grilled beef, lamb dishes and hearty stews. It also works beautifully with mushroom-based dishes and semi-soft cheeses, where its balance of fruit, structure and gentle savoury notes comes through.
