Description

From vineyards around the historic village of Tautavel in the Pyrénées-Orientales, Château des Jaume crafts this powerful dry red from the Maury Sec appellation. While the area is traditionally known for its fortified sweet wines, Maury Sec highlights the depth and character of Grenache in a structured, savoury style. Planted on rugged Mediterranean hillsides and ripened under abundant southern sunshine, the grapes develop remarkable concentration and richness.

Tasting Notes:
Deep violet-red in colour, the nose is expressive with aromas of ripe red berries, subtle violet notes and a touch of gentle vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and generous, showing layers of dark autumnal fruit, black cherry and raspberry, supported by fine, elegant tannins. A soft spice and warm Mediterranean character carry through to a long, harmonious finish.

Winemaking:
The blend is led by Grenache, complemented by Syrah and Carignan, sourced primarily from vineyards around Tautavel. Careful vinification preserves the richness of the fruit while allowing the wine’s natural structure and aromatic complexity to develop.

Food Pairing:
An excellent partner for grilled or roasted meats, hearty Mediterranean dishes, lamb, or mature cheeses. Its depth and warmth also make it a satisfying wine to enjoy on its own.

ABV: 15.5%
