Big G is the flagship Bordeaux‑style blend from Holden Manz Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley. A carefully composed expression of classic red varietals, it reflects the estate’s commitment to quality and balance.
Tasting Notes:
The wine offers rich aromas of ripe dark fruit — including black cherry, cassis and plum — complemented by subtle herbaceous notes and hints of cedarwood and pencil shavings. On the palate it is plush and layered, with integrated tannins, juicy dark fruit and a long finish that combines fruit depth with spice complexity.
Winemaking:
Hand‑harvested grapes from selected vineyard blocks are fermented and matured in French oak barrels. Extended maturation in oak allows the structure and flavours of the blend to develop before bottling, with careful attention to integration and harmony.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted red meats, hearty stews, beef Wellington or richly seasoned braised dishes, where the wine’s depth and spice complement robust flavours.
