Very hard to find in the UK, and only produced in small quantities, the Pfeiffer Chardonnay is a wonderful example of how well the Aussies are treating Chardonnay these days. Wild vineyard yeasts are used for the fermentation, which takes place in french oak barrels. 8 months lees ageing helped to build the wines texture, and the result is a beutifully balanced white with body, freshness and a lovely combination of fruit and subtle spice.
This is a very serious Chardonnay and at under £20 a bottle represents very good value.
