Visionaire is Holden Manz’s distinctive take on a spicy Bordeaux‑style blend, made exclusively from grapes grown in the Franschhoek Valley. The wine combines six classic varieties — Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot — to create a multi‑layered and expressive red.
Tasting Notes:
Opulent aromas of red and black fruit are accented by spice, with hints of white pepper and violet. The palate is smooth and elegant yet structured, with juicy berry flavours, savoury depth and refined tannins that lead to a lingering, complex finish.
Winemaking:
Each component of the blend was matured separately in 225‑litre French oak barrels — 20 % new and 80 % second‑ and third‑fill — for 24 months before blending and bottling, allowing careful integration of oak and fruit.
Food Pairing:
Perfect with grilled lamb, roast beef or rich stews, where the wine’s layered fruit and spice can complement hearty, savoury dishes.
