Description

A structured and characterful Côtes de Bourg from Château Peychaud, sourced from vineyards in the commune of Teuillac on Bordeaux’s right bank. Predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Franc, this is a fuller-bodied expression of Bordeaux, combining ripe fruit with firm structure and a depth that reflects both the vintage and the terroir.

Tasting Notes:
Deep in colour with a vivid purple hue, the nose is expressive, offering aromas of dark berries, blueberry and morello cherry layered with notes of spice and a hint of mocha. The palate is rich and concentrated, with generous dark fruit supported by a firm tannic backbone. There is a savoury edge running through the wine, leading to a long, structured finish with touches of cocoa and warming spice.

Winemaking:
Grapes are harvested at full ripeness to maximise concentration and depth. Fermentation is followed by a period of maturation, with a proportion of the wine aged in barrel to add complexity and subtle notes of coffee and cocoa, while retaining the integrity of the fruit. The result is a wine that balances power with structure and integration.

Food Pairing:
Well suited to hearty dishes, this pairs particularly well with roast and grilled red meats, game and slow-cooked stews. It also complements rich casseroles and mature cheeses, where its structure and depth can stand up to more robust flavours.

ABV: 15%
