The Dragón de Vino is a flagship Malbec from Bodegas Staphyle, sourced from vineyards in the Potrerillos area of Mendoza. Nestled in the pre-cordilleran foothills, these high-altitude vineyards benefit from strong daytime sunlight and cool nights, producing grapes with exceptional concentration, vibrant fruit, and refined structure.
Tasting Notes:
The wine shows a deep, vivid ruby-red colour. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe plums and blackberries are complemented by subtle smoke, violet notes, and a touch of spice. The palate is rich and textured, with smooth, velvety tannins, concentrated red and black fruit, and a lingering, elegant finish.
Winemaking:
Grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted before fermentation under controlled temperatures to preserve the varietal character. The wine is aged for 15 months in new 225-litre oak casks, which adds structure, subtle oak complexity, and depth without overwhelming the fruit.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, slow-roasted beef, hearty stews, and hard cheeses.
ABV: 13.5%
