Château Nadal Hainaut is a historic family estate founded in 1826 on the site of a former 12th-century monastery, set between the Mediterranean Sea and the foothills of the Pyrenees in the heart of Roussillon. Here, Jean-Marie Nadal and his daughters Julie and Pauline cultivate organically farmed vineyards on chalky clay soils strewn with river pebbles, where the cooling influence of the Tramontane wind helps maintain balance and freshness in the grapes.
Tasting Notes:
Deep garnet in colour, the nose is expressive with aromas of ripe red fruits, black cherry and gentle sweet spices. The palate is vibrant and full-bodied, revealing layers of cherry and dark berry fruit supported by subtle spice. Fine, silky tannins provide structure while the finish remains fresh, rounded and harmonious.
Winemaking:
Produced from a blend of Syrah and Grenache Noir grown on organically certified vineyards, the grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified separately in temperature-controlled tanks. Gentle pump-overs during fermentation allow for careful extraction of colour and tannins while preserving the purity of the fruit, followed by a short period of maturation in tank before bottling.
Food Pairing:
A versatile partner for grilled meats, roast lamb, charcuterie or mature cheeses. Its generous fruit and balanced structure also make it a rewarding wine to enjoy on its own.
