Description

Founded in 1956 by a small group of seven winegrowers, Caves de Gigondas has grown into a respected cooperative representing dozens of growers across vineyards surrounding the Dentelles de Montmirail. The diverse soils and distinctive microclimate of this southern Rhône area allow the production of wines that combine concentration with freshness. ‘Seigneur du Raveil’ is a classic Vacqueyras blend, reflecting the richness and structure for which the appellation is known.

Tasting Notes
Ruby red in colour, the nose is expressive with aromas of red and black fruits alongside smoky notes, warm spices and hints of garrigue. The palate is powerful and well-structured, revealing flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant and liquorice with touches of black pepper and earthy complexity. The finish is long and persistent.

Winemaking
A traditional southern Rhône blend of 75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault. The grapes are harvested and vinified using classic methods to extract colour, flavour and structure, producing a wine that balances generous fruit with the depth typical of Vacqueyras.

Food Pairing
Excellent with hearty dishes such as beef bourguignon, slow-cooked lamb, grilled meats or a selection of mature cheeses.

ABV: 14.5%
