Description

A rich and expressive red blend from Jeanneret Wines, showcasing the depth and character of the Clare Valley. Established in 1992, Jeanneret is a family-owned winery with 60 acres of low-yielding vines in the Armagh region of North Western Clare. The vineyards are farmed organically, reflecting the family’s motto, “naturally perfect,” and their commitment to producing wines that express the unique terroir of the region.

Tasting Notes:
The wine is almost black with a bright crimson rim. The nose is generously aromatic, featuring blackberry, blueberry, mulberry, cassis, and raspberry, complemented by gentle spicy notes. On the palate, it is textured and opulent, with firm tannins from the Cabernet and a fleshy mid-palate contributed by the Malbec. The wine is approachable now and is expected to gain character and complexity.

Winemaking:
The grapes were carefully selected and harvested from the Clare Valley vineyards at optimal ripeness. Gentle handling throughout crushing and fermentation allowed the vibrant dark fruit and layered spice to be preserved. The wine was aged in oak and spent time on lees, integrating the fruit with structure and creating a harmonious, rounded texture. The careful blending of Cabernet and Malbec parcels ensured a wine that is both firmly structured and generously flavoured, showcasing the distinct character of each variety while achieving a balanced and opulent final wine.

Food Pairing:
This wine pairs beautifully with roast beef or lamb, steak tartare, or roast goose.

ABV: 15%
