Almost black with a bright crimson rim. Wonderfully generous nose of blackberry, blueberry, mulberry, cassis and raspberry with gentle spicy notes complimenting the medley of fruits. The palate is textured, mouth-watering and opulent with lovely firmness and grip from the Cabernet and a big fleshy middle thanks to that fantastic dark, savoury Malbec. It’s very, very approachable now and will gain character and complexity over the next 5 years or so.
Established in 1992, Jeanneret is a family winery with 60 acres of low yielding vines in the Armagh of North Western Clare. The vineyards are farmed organically and the family moto is ‘naturally perfect’ and they aim to make wines which reflect the time and place they come from. The estate is headed up by self-taught winemaker Ben Jeanneret whose ethos is to produce generous wines full of flavour to be enjoyed amongst friends.
