Description

A distinguished Riserva Verdicchio from CasalFarneto’s vineyards in the Serra de’ Conti area of the Castelli di Jesi DOC. Widely regarded as one of the finest expressions of Verdicchio, ‘Crisio’ combines complexity and structure with the variety’s hallmark freshness and minerality. The southwest-facing vineyards and carefully timed multiple harvests ensure grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, creating a wine of depth and elegance.

Tasting Notes:
Pale straw with green reflections, the nose is expressive and layered, showing stone fruit, fresh citrus and delicate floral notes. On the palate it is fuller and more textured than typical Verdicchio, with a creamy mouthfeel and flavours of ripe peach and almond. Mineral nuances and a subtle nuttiness emerge on the persistent finish, adding complexity and refinement.

Winemaking:
The grapes are harvested in three stages to capture different ripeness levels and flavour profiles. The first portion is fermented in small barrels to enhance texture and structure, while the remaining harvests ferment in stainless steel to preserve freshness. After blending, the wine is aged in tank for a further year and then in bottle before release, ensuring harmony and maturity. This careful approach results in a Verdicchio of exceptional balance and longevity.

Food Pairing:
A superb match for rich seafood dishes, shellfish, creamy sauces, mushrooms and truffles. It also pairs beautifully with soft cheeses and Mediterranean cuisine where its structure and minerality can complement complex flavours.

ABV: 14%
