Description

The flagship wine of Bodegas Emilio Moro, this 2021 vintage is a testament to the estate’s dedication to low-yield Tempranillo vines, producing a wine of remarkable depth, structure, and elegance. It reflects the character of Pesquera de Duero, where the estate’s vineyards thrive at high altitude, benefiting from the cool nights and sunny days of Ribera del Duero.

Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby in colour, the nose opens with concentrated aromas of black cherry, plum, and subtle cassis, layered with hints of spice, vanilla, and a whisper of toasted oak. On the palate it is full-bodied yet refined, with ripe, velvety tannins and a fresh, balanced acidity. Flavours of dark berries, liquorice, and gentle cedar evolve into a long, harmonious finish that mirrors the wine’s aromatic complexity.

Winemaking:
The 2021 Emilio Moro is made exclusively from Tempranillo sourced from mature vines. Grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected to ensure only the best fruit reaches the winery. Fermentation takes place in a combination of French and American oak barrels, where the wine is aged to enhance structure, integration, and the natural expression of the variety. Minimal intervention preserves the purity and intensity of the fruit, while careful ageing imparts complexity and elegance.

Food Pairing:
A versatile red, it pairs beautifully with roasted and grilled red meats, game, mature cheeses, and hearty stews. Its balance and richness also allow it to complement spiced dishes without overwhelming the palate.

ABV: 14.5%
