2020 Springhill Merlot, Irvine, South Australia

The Irvine family are considered to be masters of the Merlot grape variety. They produce some of the very best from Australia.

Importantly, this wine is based on fruit from their Springhill vineyard in the Eden Valley, a slightly cooler growing region, perfect for the Merlot grape.

Springhill Merlot is an easy drinking, approachable red that still maintains the Irvine style. On the nose there are raspberry and plum and the palate is medium-weighted with soft tannins and a chocolate edge on the finish. A great introduction to the Irvine portfolio.
