Vernissage is Holden Manz Wine Estate’s approachable red blend from Franschhoek, combining three classic cultivars — Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon — sourced from vineyards in the valley and surrounding sites. The 2021 harvest was cooler than average, resulting in wines with lively acidity and vibrant fruit expression.
Tasting Notes:
Bright ruby in the glass, the wine offers enticing aromas of mulberry, blackberry and floral notes with a subtle meaty undertone. On the palate it is smooth and balanced, with ripe dark fruit, spice and a refined, lingering finish framed by supple tannins.
Winemaking:
Blended from Merlot (38%), Syrah (36%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (26%), the components are carefully selected to create a harmonious and expressive wine. Gentle extraction and integrated maturation allow the fruit and spice notes to complement each other with finesse.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with roasted duck with berry jus, mushroom risotto or grilled venison medallions, where the wine’s balance and fruit richness can shine alongside rich, savoury flavours.
ABV: 14.5%
