A distinguished and traditionally styled Brunello from Lisini, one of Montalcino’s historic family estates. Produced exclusively from Sangiovese, locally known as Sangiovese Grosso, this is a beautifully structured and age-worthy Tuscan red, combining ripe cherry fruit, savoury complexity and fine tannins with the freshness and elegance that define classic Brunello di Montalcino.
Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby red in colour with garnet highlights, the nose is complex and expressive with aromas of ripe red cherry, wild berries and plum complemented by violet, dried herbs, tobacco and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied yet elegant, with concentrated red fruit supported by firm, finely textured tannins and vibrant acidity. Notes of leather, cedar, liquorice and earthy spice develop through the palate, leading to a long, savoury and beautifully persistent finish.
Winemaking:
Produced from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grown in Lisini’s vineyards in the southern part of Montalcino. Traditional fermentation and extended skin contact develop the wine’s depth, structure and aromatic complexity. The wine undergoes lengthy maturation in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by further bottle ageing, allowing the tannins to soften gradually while preserving the purity of the fruit and distinctive character of the estate’s terroir.
Food Pairing:
An excellent match for roast lamb, bistecca alla Fiorentina, venison and slow-cooked beef. It also pairs beautifully with wild boar, porcini mushrooms, truffle-based dishes, rich Tuscan stews and mature Pecorino cheese.
ABV: 14.5%
