A delightful un-oaked Chardonnay from France's Mâcon region in southern Burgundy. It's aged on its lees for 12 months to add depth and creaminess ot the texture, yet the emphasis is still on vibrant fruit and fresh minerality to the finish.
Grown on the limestone / clay soils of the Mâcon-Villages appellation the Mâcon-Chaintré is harvested by hand and machine. The fruit is immediately pressed on arrival at the cellar before fermenting at a low temperature (15 degrees centigrade). The wine is then matured on the lees for 12 months.
Respectively founded in 1923 and 1960 Cave de Chaintre et Cave des Producteurs de Juliénas merged in 2013 to form a union between Burgundy and Beaujolais. The people who make up les Vignerons Associés work tire-lessly to produce consumer friendly wines with an emphasis on respect for the terroir, innovation and production of a large selection of outstanding wines.
