This 2025 Malbec from Bodegas Sottano is sourced from the high-altitude vineyards of Mendoza, with 60 % of the fruit from Vistaflores in Tunuyán and 40 % from Perdriel in Luján de Cuyo. The family-owned estate, run by the Sottano brothers, benefits from warm days and cool nights, producing grapes with balanced ripeness and freshness.
Tasting Notes:
Visually, the wine shows an intense, bright red colour with violet hues. Aromas of plum, raspberry, and violet are complemented by mineral notes of graphite and subtle hints of chocolate and vanilla from oak ageing. On the palate, the wine has a refined entry, delicate structure, and firm yet velvety tannins that provide a lingering, elegant finish.
Winemaking:
Fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts, the must undergoes three days of cold maceration followed by a total maceration period of fifteen days. The wine is then aged for eight months in oak barrels, which enhances complexity while preserving the varietal character of Malbec.
Food Pairing:
Enjoy with grilled or roasted red meats, barbecued dishes, hearty stews, or mature cheeses to complement the wine’s fruit intensity and smooth tannins.
ABV: 13.2%
