Monte das Ânforas is a classic red from Portugal’s Alentejo region, produced by Quinta do Carmo, part of the Bacalhôa Group and named for the historic amphorae once used in local winemaking. The vineyards are planted in clay‑schist soils across traditional Alentejo sites such as Arronches, Borba, Redondo and Arraiolos, where warm days and cooling breezes deliver ripe, concentrated fruit.
Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby in colour, this wine offers an aromatic bouquet of ripe red and dark fruits with touches of spice. The palate is full‑bodied yet fresh, with smooth, juicy red berry flavours complemented by gentle spice and a balanced, persistent finish.
Winemaking:
Made from a blend of Alentejo’s key red varieties — including Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira — the grapes are vinified separately in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve fruit freshness and aromatic purity. After slight post‑fermentative maceration and blending, the wine is rested in cement tanks prior to bottling, resulting in a modern, youthful style.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted red meats, hearty stews, tomato‑based pasta and Mediterranean dishes, as well as medium‑intensity cheeses.
ABV: 14%
