A richly textured Pinot Noir from the stony, dry vineyards of Marlborough, the 2021 Kuki expresses the region’s warm days and cool nights through ripe, concentrated fruit and elegant structure.
Tasting Notes:
Bright red in colour, the wine shows lifted aromas of red berries, cherry spice, and subtle savoury notes. On the palate, succulent cherry and brambly berry flavours are supported by softening tannins, providing length and a supple, lingering finish.
Winemaking:
Grapes were picked and cooled overnight before partial de-stemming and gentle crushing. The juice underwent an extended cool fermentation on skins in temperature-controlled tanks, with around 20% fermented in used oak. After blending, the wine was matured in a combination of French and American oak casks for approximately 12 months, contributing smoky, vanilla nuances and refined tannin structure.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with roast beef, pink lamb cutlets, venison, or medium-mature cheeses, complementing the wine’s depth and fruit-driven profile.
ABV: 13.5%
