Pale straw with golden highlights. Ripe melon and peach abound with butterscotch and fig notes. A Gisborne favourite, This Chardonnay is rich, ripe fruit, with peach flavours and an inherent creaminess.

Kirsten and Richard bought the Matawhero winery from it’s founder and pioneer winemaker Denis Irwin in 2008. The Estate produces 3 levels of wine includeing the Single Vineyard range – a selection of the very best vineyard sites in Gisborne from three distinct sub regions; Riverpoint, Hexton Hills and Patutahi. The wines are fruit-driven and approachable and they display the palate weight and texture that Gisbourne is renowned for.
