Pale straw with a hint of gold. Tropical fruit, passionfruit and a subtle herbaceous note. On the palate melon, stone fruit and subtle passionfruit. The wine finishes with a richness and fullness seen only in good Sauvignon Blanc.

Kirsten and Richard bought the Matawhero winery from it’s founder and pioneer winemaker Denis Irwin in 2008. The Estate produces 3 levels of wine includeing the Single Vineyard range – a selection of the very best vineyard sites in Gisborne from three distinct sub regions; Riverpoint, Hexton Hills and Patutahi. The wines are fruit-driven and approachable and they display the palate weight and texture that Gisbourne is renowned for.
