A charming and classically styled red Burgundy from the family-run Domaine Henri Prudhon in Saint-Aubin. Produced from Pinot Noir grown across several small parcels, this is a supple, fruit-driven expression with the elegance and freshness characteristic of Burgundy. Bright red fruit, gentle earthy complexity and restrained oak make it an approachable yet distinctly Burgundian Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes:
Bright ruby red in colour, the nose is fragrant and inviting with aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry complemented by delicate floral notes, subtle spice and a touch of woodland earthiness. The palate is fresh and supple, with juicy red berry fruit, fine silky tannins and lively acidity. Gentle savoury and mineral notes provide additional complexity, leading to an elegant, refreshing and fruit-led finish.
Winemaking:
Produced from 100% Pinot Noir grown in several vineyard parcels around Saint-Aubin, with vines ranging from approximately 10 to 40 years old on clay and limestone soils with a westerly exposure. The grapes undergo around eight days of vatting before the wine is matured in oak barrels, with no new oak used, preserving the purity and delicacy of the fruit. Bottling takes place after approximately six to eight months of maturation.
Food Pairing:
An excellent match for roast chicken, duck, pork tenderloin and charcuterie. It also pairs beautifully with mushroom dishes, pâté, grilled vegetables, lighter game dishes and soft cheeses.
ABV: 12.5%
