A refined and expressive Bourgogne Rouge from Domaine Gaëlle et Jérôme Meunier, produced from Pinot Noir grown in carefully selected vineyard sites around Mercurey and the Côte d’Or. Crafted with a focus on balance and precision, this wine reflects the domaine’s low-intervention approach and commitment to quality, offering a polished and characterful expression of Burgundy.
Tasting Notes:
Bright ruby in colour, the nose is lifted and aromatic, with notes of red cherry, raspberry and subtle floral tones. The palate is supple and well-defined, combining juicy red fruit with gentle spice and a light earthy nuance. Fine tannins and fresh acidity bring structure and balance, leading to a smooth, harmonious finish.
Winemaking:
Grapes are hand harvested from low-yielding vines and fermented using indigenous yeasts. The wine is then matured in older oak barrels for around 10 months, allowing for gentle integration of texture without overt oak influence. This measured approach enhances complexity while preserving the clarity and character of the fruit.
Food Pairing:
A versatile red that pairs well with roasted meats, grilled dishes and classic bistro fare. It also complements charcuterie, poultry and soft cheeses, where its freshness and supple structure makes it an easy and reliable partner.
ABV: 13.1%
