Description

A refined and expressive red from the southern slopes of Mount Etna, Masseria Setteporte’s Etna Rosso captures the elegance and freshness of this unique volcanic terroir. Crafted predominantly from Nerello Mascalese with a touch of Nerello Cappuccio, it balances bright red fruit with subtle mineral complexity.

Tasting Notes:
Bright ruby with garnet hints, the nose is perfumed with red cherries, wild berries, and gentle notes of roasted herbs. The palate is soft and harmonious, showing vibrant fruit, delicate spice, and a hint of smoky minerality. The finish is fresh, persistent, and versatile, making this a wine suitable for both lighter summer dishes and hearty winter fare.

Winemaking:
Grapes are grown on the high-altitude vineyards of southern Etna, benefiting from volcanic soils, strong diurnal temperature shifts, and a Mediterranean climate. After careful hand-harvesting, fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks to preserve the varietal character, with a portion aged in large Slavonian oak casks to refine texture and structure without overpowering the wine’s natural freshness and minerality.

Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted meats, mushroom dishes, rich pasta sauces, and mature cheeses. Its balance of freshness and elegance also suits Mediterranean vegetable dishes and light game.

ABV: 14%
