Château Rousseau Monbazillac comes from the historic Monbazillac AOC, perched on the left bank of the Dordogne River just south of Bergerac. This lusciously sweet white is made in the traditional style of its Bordeaux neighbours but with a lighter, fresher character that makes it wonderfully versatile.
Tasting Notes:
Bright golden in the glass, the nose reveals ripe apricot, peach, acacia blossom and hints of candied citrus. On the palate, the wine is rich yet balanced, combining concentrated stone fruit and floral undertones with a crisp, refreshing finish that lifts the sweetness beautifully.
Winemaking:
Produced from a blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle, the grapes are harvested by hand over several passes to select only those affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), concentrating sugars and flavours naturally. Gentle fermentation and careful maturation preserve the wine’s freshness, aromatic clarity, and supple texture.
Food Pairing:
Versatile and indulgent, this Monbazillac is perfect with foie gras, pâté, blue cheeses such as Roquefort, fruit-based desserts, or simply enjoyed on its own. Its balance of sweetness and acidity makes it a refined and accessible dessert wine.
ABV: 12%
