2023 Pinot Noir, Les Argelières, Languedoc, France

This delightfully textured Pinot Noir from the south of France is a wonderful example of the variety. Whilst much of the south of France is considered too warm for the production of well balanced Pinot Noir, the vineyards used for this wine benefit greatly from the cooling effects of the Montagne Noir. This favourable climate and the remarkable winemaking skills of Marilyn Lasserre and the perfecxt combination. The result is a wine brimming with ripe summer berries, yet with a fresh acidity that keeps it vibrant. The tannins are very ripe and gentle, so the texture is wonderfully soft. On the finish there is a gentle peppery note to add another layer of intrigue.
