Pale straw with hints of gold. Exotic rose petal, lychee and nashi pear notes on the nose. Clean fruit-driven style, rich and full with nashi pear, lychee, Turkish delight, spice and ginger notes. A broad wine that persists well.

Kirsten and Richard bought the Matawhero winery from it’s founder and pioneer winemaker Denis Irwin in 2008. The Estate produces 3 levels of wine includeing the Single Vineyard range – a selection of the very best vineyard sites in Gisborne from three distinct sub regions; Riverpoint, Hexton Hills and Patutahi. The wines are fruit-driven and approachable and they display the palate weight and texture that Gisbourne is renowned for.
