A rich and elegant Tuscan red that combines the vibrancy of fresh fruit with the depth and concentration of partially dried grapes. This style reflects both the region’s heritage and the producer’s commitment to quality-driven innovation, resulting in a wine of balance, structure and expressive character.
Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby in colour with subtle purple hues. The nose reveals ripe cherry and blackberry fruit layered with gentle spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with smooth, well-structured tannins. Notes of vanilla, cocoa and sweet spice add complexity, while the influence of dried grapes brings depth and a long, supple finish, balanced by underlying freshness.
Winemaking:
A blend of Sangiovese (60%), Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). Grapes are harvested in two stages: the majority at full ripeness, with a portion picked earlier and partially dried for 2–3 weeks to concentrate sugars and acidity. Following destemming, the fruit undergoes cold maceration for 4–6 days, with fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel and concrete vessels. The dried grapes are then incorporated, with press wine and lees added back to enhance structure and complexity. The wine is matured in older barrels to achieve harmony and refinement.
Food Pairing:
Well suited to roasted red meats, braised dishes and game, as well as aged cheeses and hearty pasta with rich sauces. Its combination of concentration and freshness also complements slow-cooked stews.
