Les Argelières Viognier is a bright and expressive white from the sun-soaked Languedoc region, showcasing the elegance and purity of this aromatic grape. Grown on cooler hillside vineyards, the carefully managed yields concentrate the grape’s signature apricot and peach character, while a fresh, zesty acidity keeps the palate lively and vibrant.
Tasting Notes:
Pale yellow with subtle green reflections, the nose reveals aromas of ripe apricot, juicy mango, delicate rose petals, and a hint of almonds. The palate is round, juicy, and textured, with soft herbal nuances and a lingering, refreshing finish that highlights the varietal purity.
Winemaking:
Grapes are harvested at night to preserve their aromatic freshness, then destemmed and gently pressed under inert gas to prevent oxidation. The juice undergoes a brief cold maceration, with daily stirring on the fine lees to build complexity and enhance aromatic intensity. Fermentation is carried out at controlled temperatures in stainless steel, followed by a period on lees to achieve a velvety, textured mouthfeel.
Food Pairing:
A versatile white, it pairs beautifully with roast chicken, lightly spiced fish, creamy vegetable dishes, or simply enjoyed on its own as an aromatic aperitif.
