Description

A characterful Beaujolais Villages from Domaine de la Madone, produced from Gamay grown on the granite-rich slopes of Madonna Hill in Fleurie. Bordering the Brouilly cru, these vineyards benefit from stony soils and old vines, delivering a wine that combines regional vibrancy with impressive depth and structure.

Tasting Notes:
Deeply expressive, the nose reveals ripe blackberry, mulberry and red berry fruit, lifted by subtle floral and liquorice notes. The palate is generous and concentrated, with smooth, finely integrated tannins and a juicy line of acidity. Balanced and refined, it finishes long with a pure, fruit-driven character and a touch of minerality.

Winemaking:
Grapes are hand-harvested from multiple small parcels across the estate and vinified using open-vat fermentation rather than traditional carbonic maceration. This approach enhances structure and complexity. The wine is then matured in concrete tanks, preserving fruit purity while allowing texture and balance to develop.

Food Pairing:
A versatile partner for grilled and roasted meats, sausages and hearty vegetarian dishes. It also pairs well with mushroom-based recipes and soft cheeses, and can be enjoyed lightly chilled.

ABV: 13%
